We have successfully confirmed, via multiple unimpeachable sources within the Tulane football program, who will start at quarterback tonight for the Green Wave.
While most felt that this was and would be a two-horse race between Kai Horton and Oregon transfer Ty Thompson, FearTheWaveCollective.com can confirm that Darian Mensah will start for Tulane, tonight. This will not only be Mensah's first career start, but his first snap tonight will be the first of his collegiate career.
Mensah, a second year player from the class of 2023, was a three-star recruit from St. Joseph High School in San Luis Obispo, California, per 247. He chose Tulane over Idaho State. It has been evident throughout August camp that teammates have been drawn to and responded to Mensah's confidence, swagger, and of course, ability. He has been the most consistent of all three options, and has earned the right to head into the season as the starting quarterback for the Green Wave.
Two of our fantastic contributors, John Burrows and Isaac Popper sat down with Darian earlier this month for a full-length interview, embedded here. Take a few minutes to give this a watch and get to know your new starting quarterback. See y'all at the stadium, tonight. Roll Wave!
Let it rip DM!!!!
