Jake Weinstock and Jimmy Ordeneaux get together to break down some fan and subscriber questions during week 2 of fall practice.
Also, here are some notes from Monday and Tuesday's practices. The Wave were at Yulman Stadium on Monday and Zephyr Field on Tuesday. They will be off, tomorrow, Wednesday.
Javion White continued to see the bulk of the reps with the starters at "spear" (slot corner position) but newcomer T.J. Smith continues to have an excellent camp, as well.
Reese Baker has likewise gobbled up the majority of first-team reps at right tackle, and it would be a major upset for him to not be in the starting lineup on August 30, at this point, in my opinion.
Bailey Despanie and Jack Tchienchou continue to dominate snaps at safety with the first team -- no surprises there.
While Jahiem "Joker" Johnson continues to lock down the boundary cornerback spot, there is still a healthy competition at the field cornerback position between E'Zaiah Shine and Jayden Lewis, with Isaiah Wadsworth working in, too.
There were a number of explosive plays from the offense on Tuesday morning, with Anthony Brown-Stephens being responsible for two, Jimmy Calloway being responsible for one, and each of Maurice Turner and Zuberi Mobley breaking off long runs.
Kadin Semonza clearly has the strongest understanding of the offense and gives Joe Craddock the ability to use the whole playbook, but he is also the most physically limited of the trio of quarterbacks competing for the starting job (with Brendan Sullivan and Jake Retzlaff). Sullivan and Retzlaff continue to receive a healthy share of the reps as the staff tries to get them up to speed with the season quickly approaching. I do not see Donovan Leary anywhere near the front of the pack on this race, at the moment.
