FTW Cast: Transfer Portal Update

I am just sitting here watching Indiana win it all, and Coach Cignetti is speaking about how this happened because the higher-ups at Indiana invested in football, which opened the door to bringing in talent.
Knowing this school as I do, I'm not optimistic that we're truly open to being a strong football school and that this short-term success will not last, and that makes me so sad. Our academic barrier of entry, our institutional spending, I can't help but feel like football will fall by the wayside when, in reality, football is probably the smartest investment a university can make to increase revenue, students, and alumni relations.
Another matter of great interest to our fan base is how much money did Tulane profit off our CFP appearance and how is it being used. We got $6.1m from what the CFP paid the conference and we got $3m from the CFP for travel and organizational expenses. That's $9.1 m. Most figure after expenses and coaches bonuses we netted $7-8m. The sentiment is that all of it should be used for revenue share adding to the $5m the school puts up for rev. share.
Appreciate the podcast. I fully believe in Kelly. I know you all monitor our fan boards and I recently posted that with his promotion he's on track to be our AD and the sooner the better. I understand he's constrained by the lack of financial support from the school and the lack of whale donors.
There is some good information in it. The latter portion though missed the point. I'm referring to the fan emotion portion. The podcast goes on about fan emotion being about the players we lost. That's not the case. Our fan base understands that out better players are most likely going to leave in the portal and we can't match the offers of the other schools.…
Thank you all. This was timely, excellent and informative. Gives me a deeper, and better, understanding of portal dynamics and will definitely make this week easier for me to endure. Really appreciate the work Kelly and his team do and the value FTWC brings to fans like me.
