Tulane Adds Another Cornerback from the Transfer Portal

Earlier this week, we released the list of the twenty (20) players that Tulane has added from the transfer portal, ahead of the 2026 season. We noted that we had heard that it was possible for that number to grow by one or two, ahead of the school's add/drop class deadline (which is today, January 23, 2026). We can now confirm that the number has grown to twenty-one (21).

Tulane has added cornerback Justin Agu to their 2026 roster. If that name sounds familiar, it should; he is the brother of Tulane linebacker Dickson Agu. Justin spent the 2025 season at Louisville, appearing in eight games as a reserve, playing both cornerback and safety. Prior to 2025, he played at Louisiana-Lafayette from 2022-2024. In 2023, he tallied 243 snaps and two starts, and then in 2024 he played 615 snaps and started nine games for the Ragin' Cajuns. During that 2024 season, opposing quarterbacks completed only 58.5% of their attempts when targeting Agu, which was second-best among ULL cornerbacks.

For the Green Wave, my expectation is for Agu to compete at both the field and boundary (i.e. the "outside") cornerback positions, once spring practice ramps up in March. Agu has just one season of eligibility remaining.

This is a very good pickup. Saw him play in several ULL games and he was solid. Thought we would get him when he entered the portal last year.
